FAQ

Who can benefit from counselling?

Counselling is for anyone seeking support—whether you are experiencing emotional distress, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, or simply want greater self-understanding and personal growth.

What can I expect in my first session

The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, goals, and what brings you to counselling. It also helps establish a collaborative approach, ensuring we work together in a way that feels supportive, respectful, and aligned with your needs.

For relationship concerns, should I attend counselling alone or with my partner?

Both options are welcome. You may attend counselling on your own or with your partner, depending on your comfort level and goals. Individual sessions can help you gain clarity and insight, while joint sessions support communication and mutual understanding. We can also discuss together what approach may be most helpful for your situation.

For family counselling, if there are relationship challenges with my teen, should my teen attend individual counselling or should we come together as a family?

Both approaches can be helpful. Family sessions support communication, understanding, and connection among family members, while individual counselling can provide teens with a private space to explore their thoughts and emotions. Depending on your family’s needs, a combination of family and individual sessions may be recommended. We can discuss the most supportive approach together during an initial consultation.

How long does counselling last?

The length of counselling varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients attend short-term counselling (8-12 sessions), while others choose longer-term support.
